I want the money.....

.....I jus wanna b, I jus wanna b Successful........

Isn't that everyone's aim in life? Whether they want to be a doctor, a producer, own a business, fix plumbing, or design SAT questions, everybody desires to be the best at that ONE thing that seperates them from the next person. In music, it's all about hunger, zeal, and full-on passion.

When you KNOW that you know that you know, what your 'niche' in life is, that is when it really begins to be crunch time. If you thought about the population of the world, and the number of people in your profession, everytime you sat down to write a song, you probably would quit.....well, the average person would. That's how you know if it's really your "calling" or not, because if you are fated to be something, or do something, resistance is futile. The best thing for you to do is to try to get a head start on things. The minute you know what you are good at-
[actually NOT just good at, great at]
-you should go 110% into it. Like, for instance, myself. I knew since probably 5th/6th grade, that I had a future in music. My uncles, cousins, grand parents, all had music backgrounds. My sister could already sing her tail off, my brother could rap and beat box, my dad....ex-rapper turned powerful preacher, my mother- sunday school piano player when i was growing up....i pretty much had no choice.
I started getting into music production, and I feel like I waited too long to get serious about it, because even though I'm MILES away from where I started....I'm LIGHT YEARS away from where I want to be, and the competition is fierce. But on thing I do have for music is passion. I have so much love for music that It's almost unimaginable. but it is contained, because without balance you can't be as effective as you would be with your priorities straight.

Success....everybody strives for it
Some Stress....Some give up their lives for it
[sharp 2009]

One major element of success is Unity, because one person can't do it all. Alot of people will tell you, that when it comes to many major and minor things in life, I usually have the 'leave me alone, I can do it' attitude. I spent my high school years going through some deep stuff, that all teens go through for the most part, but I had loving parents who actually coulda helped, so my problem was letting them.

Now, I know that unity and success go hand-in-hand. The more the merrier. Two is better than one, and a rope of three cords is not easily broken.
Sometimes in order to go further in life, you have to connect yourself to the right group of people and feed off of each other's energy.

Take Show for example....I think I finally am able to grasp the difference between Devon, and Show. Devon, is the family man. The chilled, laid-back, new shoes having, beat-vulture lol. Devon is the one that will listen to an instrumental, close his eyes, and not write a single word for at least thirty minutes. Devon is the one who sits his little daughter in the same seat he uses to record BoardRoom hits, and imagines her 15, 20 years from now enjoying the same feeling he gets when he lays down a track and mixes it down to his ears approval.
on the other hand....
SHOW, is Devon on 4 Locos lol, or what is now Max.
I'm kidding, Show is the hungry, music-minded, straight-forward, persistent, no-games, BoardRoom til' the Death, beat vulture lol.
AND anyone who knows Show/Devon knows what I mean by beat vulture, because he will literally hold on to a beat for months, NEVER record OR write to it, but still won't let any have it lol. Or he'll hear a hot beat from any one of the HOT BoardRoom producers and immediately, as if on cue say, "Lemme get that" or "That's mine?" LOL

--->anyway, to stay on topic:
His hunger is fuel for all the other artist that are connected to BoardRoom directly or indirectly, because it rubs off. His partner Dre, is the smooth, no need for too many words, but when he talks....listen, kind of dude. They feed off of each other and in return, are developing into better people period.

Success comes when you realize that the 'I' in team is imaginary. When you see the fact that there are billions of people on this world, NOt to compete with each other, but to compliment each other. I turn your swag on when you can't on your own lol.

It's not a material thing.

Success is a Place.
A state of mind.
I am Successful.
